What You Should Ask Your Auto Shop
Not every shop wants you to ask questions. At Floyd’s, we hope you do. Because asking questions isn’t a sign that you don’t trust us. It’s a sign that trust still matters to you. And it should.
If you’re looking for an auto shop near you in Robertsdale, or what most folks around here still call Hub City, you’re not wrong to be cautious. There's a lot of noise out there, and too many shops that don’t really want you digging deeper.
Before you hand over your keys, whether it’s to us or anybody else, there are a few things worth saying out loud.
First, ask them if they can show you exactly what’s wrong. Not just tell you. Not just point at a screen. Actually show you the part, the wear, the real issue in human words. If they can't walk you to it or explain it without a bunch of shop talk, that's not on you, that's on them.
Second, ask what your real options are. Not everything needs to be fixed today. Not every repair needs the highest-dollar solution. A good shop will lay it out clean: here’s what’s urgent, here’s what can wait, and here’s what’s optional based on where you’re headed. If they only give you one option, the expensive one, you’re not being served. You’re being sold.
Third, find out who’s actually working on your vehicle. You deserve to know who's wrenching on your truck, how long they've been here, and what they take pride in. If they dodge the question, you’re not handing your keys to a tech, you’re handing them to a question mark.
And last, ask what their guarantee really means. Not just what's printed on a receipt. Ask them what happens if you walk out the door and something still feels off. Watch how they answer. Their face will tell you the truth faster than their policy sheet ever will.
At Floyd’s, we believe trust isn't built at the counter. It’s built under the lift. It’s built in the second visit. It’s built in the text you get two days later just checking in.
We’re proud to be part of Robertsdale’s story, and we’re even prouder to be the auto shop near you that still answers when you call.
Ask us anything. We’re ready.
Come see us.
